Public transport faces huge challenges in the wake of Covid-19. Following a highly effective ‘avoid public transport’ message from central government during the early stages of the first wave, the road to reassurance will be long and arduous. Could the imperative to improve air quality be an important factor in driving up adoption of public transport as we emerge from the restrictions of the pandemic?
In March and April 2021, Imperial Civil Enforcement Solutions and Trapeze Group hosted two roundtables with a variety of subject matter experts on the topic of post-Covid-19 air quality. This paper, written in response to those sessions, provides an overview of the key learnings, and points to technology’s role in a clean air Covid-19 recovery.
